Accommodation
We can sleep a total of 12 in self-catering accommodation between the Farmhouse and the Fisherman’s cabin.
Bed and breakfast option available.
The Farmhouse
Sleeps a maximum of 10 people.
Luxury self-catering, affordable accommodation in a traditional Cape farmhouse and adjoining West, East and Vineyard suites, which altogether sleep a total of 10 people in 4 units, connected by a rear central courtyard. If the Farmhouse only is booked for 4 people, there is no sharing of facilities.
- The Main House has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Large living room and dining room with fireplace leading to undercover stoep (patio), garden and braai (bbq) area.
- Large kitchen with Dover Stove, leading onto outside courtyard.
- Flat screen TV with DSTV.
- Large garden and 70 metres from the river’s edge.
- Braai facilities, wood available for your first night.
The West Suite, East Suite and Vineyard Suite sleep 2 people each. They each have their own entrance.
All suites have queen sized beds with electric blankets, TV and DSTV.
The Farmhouse, The West Suite

A child can be accommodated on a camp bed.
- This suite can be booked separately or with the farmhouse.
- The West Suite is not self-catering when booked on its own.
- It has an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower and is equipped with a mini fridge, microwave and some basic cutlery and crockery.
- Electric blanket and heater for winter.
- It has a patio and garden, and there are braai facilities.
- There is a kitchen in the camping area with a wash up facility.
- TV with DSTV with selected channels.
The Farmhouse, The East Suite
Sleeps 2
- The East Suite is a semi-self catering room with en-suite shower room.
- It can be booked separately or with the farmhouse.
- It is not self-catering when booked on its own.
- It has an en-suite bathroom with shower and is equipped with kettle, toaster,mini fridge, microwave and some basic cutlery and crockery.
- There is a kitchen in the camping area with a wash up facility.
- TV with DSTV with selected channels.
The Farmhouse, The Vineyard Suite
Sleeps 2 people.
A child can be accommodated on a camp bed.
- Luxury self-catering in huge suite with living area, fireplace and kitchen.
- Large bedroom with en-suite bathroom – double shower.
- TV, DSTV (selected channels).
- Queen sized bed with electric blanket in the winter months.
- Open plan kitchen, living room with French doors to patio and garden with beautiful views of the mountains and sunsets.
- Kitchen equipped with fridge, hob, mini oven, kettle, toaster and all necessary cutlery and crockery.
The Fisherman’s Cabin

Camping
Quiet, tranquil, family camp site. Relatively small and intimate.

No Music is permitted at any time – This is strictly enforced.
We are situated 3 kms from Bonnievale town centre in the direction of Robertson, 200 kms from Cape Town, 230 kms from George. Surrounded by farms and vineyards, we are perfectly positioned to explore the Robertson wine route and the Route 62 region.
Bonnievale is 20 minutes from the Route 62 and 20 minutes from the N2.
Easily accessible via either the N1 or the N2, it is about 200 kms from the Cape Town area and is a half way stop between Cape Town and George.
20 minutes away from Montague, Robertson and Swellendam.
We are on the outskirts of Bonnievale about 2 kms from town on the Robertson side of Bonnievale.
From the N2 coming from Cape Town.
20 kms after Riviersonderend take the Stormsvlei, Bonnievale turnoff to the left.
Continue through a small pass for another 20 kms until you come to Bonnievale Wine Cellar on your right. Opposite the cellar turn left onto the R317 to Robertson/McGregor.
Continue FOR EXACTLY 2.4 kms and then turn right onto a tar road that takes you toward the river (there is no sign board).
There may be barrels in the road indicating that the road is closed, ignore these and continue down the road.
Just before the river turn left and continue until you reach our gate.
From the N1 coming from Cape Town (This is a short cut when the river is not in flood.)
Follow the signs to Bonnievale from Worcester and Robertson.
Turn right at the circle in Robertson to Bonnievale.
Continue for about 28 kms until you arrive at Bonnievale.
At the first stop street in Bonnievale turn right, there is a sign board.
Cross the river on the low water bridge.
Straight after the river take the first right turn onto a dirt road – there is a sign board.
Continue until you get to our gate about 100 metres.
From the N1 coming from Cape Town
Follow the signs to Bonnievale from Worcester and Robertson.
Turn right at the circle in Robertson to Bonnievale.
When you reach Bonnievale town centre, continue through the Main Rd. Turn right at the sign R317 Stormsvlei.
Cross the river, pass Parmalat factory on your left.
At Bonnievale Wine Cellar (Kelder) turn right at the sign R317 Robertson, McGregor.
Continue for exactly 2.4 kms and then turn right toward the river on a tar road.

From the R60 coming from Swellendam or Montagu
Make your way into Bonnievale via the R60. You will eventually come to a T-junction which is Bonnievale Main Rd, turn left.
Turn right at the sign which says R317 Stormsvlei.
Cross the river, pass Parmalat factory on your left.
At Bonnievale Wine Cellar (Kelder) turn right at the sign R317 Robertson, McGregor.
While there is the road closure, continue past Swellendam and take the Bonnievale turnoff to the right about 20 mins after Swellendam.
Continue for exactly 2.4 kms and then turn right toward the river on a tar road.
There may be barrels in the road indicating that the road is closed, ignore these and continue down the road.
Just before the river turn left and continue until you reach our gate.

Fisherman’s Cabin
sleeps 2, R600 per night.
The Farmhouse
Sleeps 10 in total in the following configuration. The rooms are connected by a central courtyard.
Main House: Self-Catering, sleeps 10 in total in 4 separate units.
The main house consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 very large bedroom and one twin bedded room which shares the bathroom.
There are 3 adjoining suites, The East, the West and the Vineyard Suite with their own entrances and bathrooms
which sleep 2 per suite.
The rate is R350-R495 per person per night depending on the season and the length of stay.
Half price for children aged 2-12.
The East Suite (semi self-catering)
Sleeps 2, R300-R495 per person per night.
West Suite (semi self-catering)
sleeps 2, R300-R495 per person per night.
Vineyard suite (self-catering)
sleeps 2, R350 –R495 per person per night. (sleeps 2)
Camping Prices October to April
R130 per adult, R65 per child aged 2-12.
Mininum site price currently R390 on weekends from October to April or the equivalent of 2 adults and 2 children.
- Mid-Week discounts are available for 3 nights or more. Not during school holidays or long weekends.
- Discounts are available during the off peak season.
- Rates are subject to change without notice.
- Minimum Site rate for peak periods, festivals and in season weekends of R390 per night.
- Minimum of 2 nights over weekends unless booked 48 hours in advance.

Child Policy:
All children are welcome.
Deposit Required:
- A minimum payment of 50% is required to confirm a booking and to guarantee a site.
- Full payment may be requested for bookings under a certain value, for last minute bookings and for bookings during peak periods.
- Full payment is required for group bookings 14 days prior to arrival.
- Sites cannot be kept until the deposit has been paid.
- Bookings will be cancelled if payment has not been received within the time given.
- Bookings are only guaranteed once the deposit has been received.
- You are liable for all booked nights.
- Should members of your party arrive late, leave early or not arrive at all, you will be liable for the full portion of
their booking. - The balance of payment is due when you arrive (in cash).
- You may do an EFT on or before your arrival date for the balance outstanding.
- Please bring the proof of payment with you.
- WE DO NOT HAVE CARD FACILITIES.

Cancellation Policies
Bonnievale River Lodge – Cancellation Policy for Camping
All cancellations must be in writing, terms and conditions follow:
- 60+days before the arrival date, 80% of the deposit will be refunded for bookings during non-peak periods. Peak periods, 40% of the deposit will be refunded.
- 30-60 days before the arrival date, 50% of the deposit will be refunded. Peak periods, 25% of the deposit will be refunded.
- 15-30 days before the arrival date, 100% of the deposit will be retained. You may re-book using the deposit, see below for details. Terms and Conditions apply.
- 7-15 days before, you are liable for the full amount of the booking.
If you wish to make use of your booking at another time, we allow you to change your dates to another date in the future (12 months). Terms and Conditions apply.
Making the new booking is subject to availability.
Long weekends and school holidays are excluded unless booked 48 hours in advance and we have availability. Weekends during the period December – March cannot be booked more than 48 hours in advance.
Bookings may only be cancelled once. Guests who cancel for the second time will lose all monies paid.
Banked monies are not transferable to other bookings or people.
If the rate has increased since the original booking was made the new rate will be applied and the difference will be due on arrival.
Cancellations for the December/January school holidays that are made less than 14 days before the arrival date will not be entitled to an exchange and full payment will be forfeited.
In addition:
- Early departures and late arrivals will not be eligible for refunds.
- Individual members of the group who do not arrive and we have not received notification of this fact within 7 days of arrival will be eligible for the full amount of the booking.
- Bookings that are changed to a shorter period of time will be liable for the full amount of the original booking.
- We reserve the right to cancel these bookings.
- Re-booking fee of R150 for cancelled bookings.
- Refunds will be made within 30 days of cancellation.
- Peak periods are any long weekend, December/January and Easter school holidays.

Enjoy fishing, swimming in the river, bird watching or just chilling under the trees. Bring canoes, tubes, lilos or anything that floats.
There is a lot to do in the area. Wine tasting, 4×4 trails, hiking and river cruises among others.
A 15 minute journey takes you to the Route 62. We are an ideal halfway stop en-route to the Garden Route.
