When embarking on an adventure to explore new and wonderful places you often tend to create some of the best memories in the places that you have called home along the way. Over the past 8 years, Feather Nest has become home to voyager far and wide, down to the stay-over business traveller looking for a place to unwind and relax. We offer affordable family accommodation in Oudtshoorn without sacrificing comfort or service. The guest house is conveniently located in the small town of Oudtshoorn – a prime location along South Africa’s Garden Route. With ample interior & exterior space, guests are welcomed to enjoy all that we have to offer. Our name does not fail to deliver on the rich diversity of indigenous bird life that can be spotted frolicking in the surrounding trees that overlook the nearby river.

The Hoopoe Family Suite offers families of up to four people a large living quarter where you will feel right at home. The top floor living space offers our guests an open planned living area and bedrooms that extend out onto a large privately situated balcony. The balcony opens up to a surrounding of lush green trees. The balcony makes for a perfect backdrop for the pink and orange hues of the Karoo sunset.

Each room has a TV with DStv*. The living room has a bar fridge with coffee-making facilities. The Braai and pool facilities are available to all our guests.

On request, a full breakfast service is on offer at Feather Nest Guest House at an additional R50pp.

For larger groups the entire house is also available for rental. Discounted rates apply for groups of 6 – 8 people.

Visit Oudtshoorn, the principal town of the Little Karoo, where you will be welcomed with hospitality which has become synonymous with the people of the Klein Karoo. The Klein Karoo is an oasis-like setting in a fertile valley cupped by the Swartberg and Outeniqua mountain ranges, and originated as a settlement along the Grobbelaars Rivers which meanders southwards from the Swartberg, providing fertile soil and water for irrigation. Crops such as lucerne, tobacco, fruit, grapes and grains grow here in abundance.
