Rooms

Fern Hill Hotel has 27 bedrooms available for guests; they are all en-suite with a bath, shower and toilet. The hotel has both double and twin rooms as well as numerous family suites that comfortably sleep up to four people. In addition to our standard Fern Hill Rooms and Family Suites, the hotel has a Presidential Suite known as the Mandela Suite. All suites are climate controlled, and all have:

  • Heating and air conditioning units
  • LCD televisions with DSTV
  • Couches
  • Californian Oak furniture
  • Digital safe
  • Hair dryers

All rooms are carpeted and many of our double bed suites have four-poster beds. Rooms 6 to 15 each have their own private balconies with outdoor furniture.

Howick is in the heart of the uMngeni Municipal region and hub of the Midlands. It is known as the place of many waterfalls for it is here that the uMngeni River and its tributaries tumble down gorges and over precipices on a journey to the Indian Ocean, some 95 km to the east. Some of the key villages found in the vicinity of Howick are Karkloof, Merrivale and Lion’s River.

Fern Hill Hotel is situated just off the N3 highway and has two sets of offramps within 3 kilometeres. Take the Tweedie/Howick turnoff from Johannesburg and The Midmar/Howick turnoff from Durban. Follow the signs from the turnoffs to the Hotel. Please contact us if you need anymore information.
