Only 15 minutes’ leisurely stroll from your bedroom is the famous Nahoon Beach, world-renowned as a surfers’ paradise. The entire coastline remains unspoilt and boasts river after river, flowing across wide beaches and on into the warm Indian Ocean. In addition, popular coastal resorts with attractive restaurants, lagoons and safe swimming areas are only minutes away.
A matter of 15 or 20 kilometres from the Guest House, you will find a number of game farms, nature reserves and wildlife sanctuaries as well as an “interactive” Lion Park.
For the more adventurous, there are off-road trails attractive to motorcyclists and quad-bike riders. For those who prefer this kind of adventure in luxury, 4X4 vehicles are able to use the same trails. Organised beach trails can be enjoyed on horseback or on foot as a day trip or over a number of days, with overnight stops in safe, comfortable bungalows.
For freshwater activities, a number of large dams offer angling, sailing, power-boating, water-skiing or just lazy picnicking.
Within 6 kms is the famous East London harbour, export venue for locally-built Mercedes Benz vehicles, from which deep-sea fishing, keel-boat sailing and leisure cruises can be enjoyed. While waiting for your trip, you can enjoy the luxury of top-class pubs and restaurants along the harbour wall.
For sport-lovers, a number of golf clubs, sports clubs for cricket, rugby, squash, hockey, bowls and a variety of other sports are minutes from “home”. And don’t forget the motorsport fans who are only minutes away from the home of South Africa’s first Formula 1 Grand Prix, held at the EL GP Circuit in 1934.
Besides all of the above, the usual selection of shopping centres, movie-houses, casinos and “township” attractions are close-by. In short, you are unlikely to ever suffer from boredom at our Guest House.
