Le-Manoir-de-Brendel Estate is situated 55 kilometres from Cape Town International Airport in the heart of the Cape Winelands. It is a five-minute drive from the historical Franschhoek Village, rated among the top gourmet and wine towns of South Africa on the R45. Continental and hot breakfast is served overlooking the Klein Drakenstein Mountain and vineyards.   Our guests have the choice of nine luxurious suites with exclusive ambiance. The atmosphere varies from room to room. All suites are serviced daily and are equipped with air-conditioners, a direct-dial telephone, selective DSTV channels, DVD player, a minibar, coffee and tea-making facilities, a safe for valuables, a hairdryer, gowns, slippers and luxury bathroom amenities. Children are welcome. We can add single beds to most of our very spacious rooms with double bathrooms if the family suite is not available, please see our surcharge rates. Both young and old enjoy playing a game of chess on our Giant Garden Chessboard. For more action, there’s a 1.2 km walking trail through the vineyards along the Franschhoek River and over the Berg River via a wooden terrace.   Lazing in and around our swimming pool is what our guests do best when the Franschhoek summer days are upon us. Lounging around our guest-lounge fireplace is just the thing to do on cold and rainy days.   Le Manoir de Brendel is a family owned estate where all grapes are harvested by hand. The very best bunches are sorted from the lower-quality ones and 80% of the vineyards are planted with red varieties and 20% with white. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinotage and Shiraz are our red cultivars, and Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Semmilon and Chardonnay the white cultivars.   Book a wine-tasting session in the afternoon to enjoy our best wines and learn about the basics of professional wine-tasting knowledge.
