Lalapanzi Camp
At Lalapanzi Camp it’s quite common to find a herd of impala sleeping outside your cottages and skittish warthog families amble around the camps all day long.
Lalapanzi consisting of our luxury chalets with satellite TV, WiFi, refrigerators, air-conditioning & en-suite bathroom, as well our 3 star combos, complete with satellite TV and air-conditioning, are ideal for families.
The camp is situated around the picturesque Lalapanzi watering hole, with some of the units cradled by the endangered sand forest, all within easy walking distance from the Lalapanzi restaurant and swimming pool facilities.
A communal lounge and bar area raised on stilts overlooking a picturesque dam provides guests with excellent bird viewing opportunities.
View the nimble Jacana bird close-up as it walks around the lily pads in the dam, or cool during the hot summers days in the Lalapanzi swimming pool.
There is also a children’s playground which keeps the youngsters busy at this ‘family friendly’ camp.
Dinizulu Camp
Located off the beaten track, Dinizulu Camp offers luxury air-conditioned, self-catering accommodation for 6 people in three separate thatched huts with en-suite bathrooms.
The ‘more than comfortable’ living area offers a spacious lounge and dining area with satellite TV, a built in bar, fully equipped modern kitchen and outdoors entertainment deck and braai area.
The veranda is situated overlooking the Dinizulu lake where your will quite likely see a fish eagle circling and where you can sit and watch the sun set over the bush. The sparkling pool provides a relief during the long summer days.
Dinizulu Camp operates on a self-catering basis but optional catering can be booked if you prefer to enjoy meals at the Lalapanzi Restaurant.
A full time cook and ranger can also be arranged at additional cost for a completely hassle-free, luxury bush experience.
Game Lodge
Game Lodge comfortably provides private, self-catering accommodation for 10 people with a fully equipped kitchen, family living area and satellite TV.
The private family lodge is comprised of five double bedrooms, each complete with air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms.
Game Lodge has it’s own private swimming pool where you will often find warthogs and tame species of buck grazing.
This quiet family lodge provides solace from the hustle and bustle of city life, allowing you the chance to unwind and reconnect.
Tree Lodge
The self-catering Tree Lodge, with its spectacular views over False Bay, consists of three 2-sleeper tree houses joined together by an aerial boardwalk.
Tree Lodge, which comfortably sleeps 6 people, has spectacular views among the tree tops, where rich bird life and game frequent the watering hole in sight of the deck.
This exclusive tree top lodge also boasts its own comfortable living area (with satellite TV), as well as, a private sundeck, braai area and fully equipped kitchen.
Tree Houses
The 4-sleeper, self-catering air-conditioned family units have a fully equipped kitchen and living area; two bedrooms upstairs (consisting of 1 double room & 1 twin room with two single beds) and the bathroom & kitchen area downstairs.
These family units have both an upper & lower level living area as well as an outside braai facility.
Tree Lodge, which consists of three 2-sleeper tree houses joined together by an aerial boardwalk, is a convenient alternative for slightly larger groups.

Hluhluwe is situated on the elephant coast, an area known for its national parks, natural diversity and cultural heritage. Considered the hub of tourism in KwaZulu-Natal, the area has an abundance of accommodation facilities, from budget accommodation to five-star game lodges. Hluhluwe town is a service centre to the surrounding area. Each of the self-catering units has 1 twin room and 1 double room, sleeps 4. The kitchen has a stove and oven, fridge, crockery and cutlery. Towels are provided for showering. Bring dish washing liquid, fire wood and towel for swimming. These units are not serviced. Braai area available for use.

Lalapanzi Restaurant and Bar Facilities
A lounge built up on stilts over the dam provides one with breath-taking sunsets, excellent birding and game viewing day or night. Lalapanzi has its own private pool.
For those staying in self-catering accommodation, meals can be booked at the Lalapanzi Restaurant.
Meals are buffet style, set menu served at Breakfast at R150-00 per person, served from 07:00 to 10:00. Dinner @ R250.00 per person served at 19:00.

All activities at Bonamanzi are under the escort of experienced, local Zulu guides who know the bush and its secrets intimately; their passion for sharing legends, folklore and bush experiences is enthralling.
Understandably, one of our most popular activities is our boat cruise, a leisurely trip down the scenic Hluhluwe river, spotting a host of river birds.
Other activities include game drives, guided walks, birding walks, birding safari and superb activities geared for kids.
Over and above the extensive list of on-site Activities, Bonamanzi offers a host of nearby attractions for even the most adventurous traveler.
Ilala Weavers
Browse through the gallery and warehouse where you will find the largest collection of traditional Zulu Baskets in the World, as well as Zulu Beadwork, locally woven lamps and shades, floor rugs and hand painted fabrics. They also have a Zulu Cultural Museum and Thembalethu Craft Village.
Emdoneni Lodge Cheetah And Serval Project (± 5km)
Visit the rehab centre for orphaned and injured cheetah, serval cats, caracal and African wild cats. Learn about these animals and see them close up. There are daily feeding sessions as well as an educational talk and tour.
Directions: Take the N2 South (± 14km) Bushlands off ramp (1km on left).
Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Park (± 21km)
The park has a number of picnic facilities with basic ablutions. Hilltop Camp offers spectacular Views and an A la Carte restaurant with buffet breakfast and Sunday lunches. Well worth a visit even if only for a cup of tea on the terrace. There are no credit card facilities at the entrance gate. Please remember to take cash.
The gates are open from 6:00 till 18:00 in the winter (1April to end Oct) and 5:00 till 19:00 in the summer (1st Nov to End March).
Zulu Croc
Zulu Croc offers a hour and a half, hands-on crocodile and snake experience, bringing these fascinating creatures up close and personal and allowing you to actually feel and touch some of the world’s most feared reptiles. This awesome interactive encounter will no doubt leave you with many unforgettable images and memories.
Dumazulu Kraal (± 1km)
Discover the Zulu way of life with the taste of Zulu beer on your lips and drumbeats echoing in your ears. Observe age old traditions such as spear making, pot making, beadwork, basket weaving and Sangoma bone throwing. The cultural experience culminates with vibrant Zulu dancing, leaving the sound of the drums and the voices of the traditional songs echoing in your ears for days to come.
Elephant Interaction
Come and enjoy an up close and personal meeting with Rambo, Rachel and Jabulani our habituated elephants. One of our knowledgeable rangers will talk you through Rambo and Rachel’s history and provide you with interesting facts about elephants. You will be given opportunity to feed Rambo and Rachel as well as touch Rambo’s ears, behind his tusks, between his legs and even get to feel his tongue! Show starts at 11:00 daily.
Greater St Lucia Wetlands – Boat Tours (± 90km)
This tour includes both the Southern side of the Estuary towards the Estuary Mouth area, as well as passing through the bridge to venture North towards the 1st and 2nd Narrows.
Whale Watching
June to November. Boat based whale watching when humpback whale can be seen on their migration route between Madagascar and the Antarctic. The Advantage Charter in St Lucia is a legal permit holder to do boat based whale watching from as close as 50m, 2 hour long tours include a full educational talk about these gigantic mammals. Whales can also be spotted along the shoreline at St Lucia and Cape Vidal.
Mkuze Game Reserve ( ± 50km)
The reserve boasts not only a substantial (now rare) sand forest, but also encompasses the Inhlonhlela and Insumo pans. The reserve has 100km of tourist roads as well as several picnic sites and six hides. Guided day/night game drives are offered as well as curio shop, swimming pool and restaurant facilities.
Sodwana Bay (± 90km)
Adjacent to Africa’s southern-most coral reefs, Sodwana Bay is renowned for sport, fishing, scuba diving and snorkelling. Other attractions include night tours in December and January offering visitors unique opportunities for turtle watching as well as self-guided and conducted walks. This prime destination offers visitors and abundance of activities associated with the diversity of beach and bush. Facilities include, picnic sites, superette and craft market, with basic supplies such as fuel and ice readily available.
Kosi Bay ( ± 2hrs)
Surrounding the most pristine lake system on the South African coast, this reserve is home to a large variety of birds and animals including hippos and crocodiles. Picnic facilities and boat launch access is available from the third lake. A sand track leading to the mouth offers spectacular views of the lakes and the traditional fish kraals in lake one. Snorkeling is a popular activity in this area 4 X 4 vechiles are recommended when visiting the mouth. Supplies are available at the trading town, Manguzi.
False Bay
Part of St Lucia Lake, False Bay has a variety of habitats such as sand forest, thornveld and open savannah, providing excellent bird watching and game viewing opportunities when taking one of the self guided trails. Boating facilities and the reputation for excellent fishing make this a popular day visitor destination. This part of the lake has been dry for the last 5 years as a result of a prolonged drought reputing in half the average annual rainfall. The park also contains important marine fossils of both animals and coral, which can be viewed in the interpretive centre. Facilities include picnic sites, ablutions and Craft shop with basic supplies.
