Dining
There are a variety of family friendly dining options available at Fairmont Zimbali Resort.
All outlets (31 Degrees) have special children’s menus. A new initiative is the expansion of the brand’s Lifestyle Cuisine program to the children’s menus – offering a healthy twist on the usual kid-friendly favorites such as chicken strips, pizza, spaghetti with meatballs and even chocolate mousse. Chefs are in the process of swapping out refined flour for whole wheat, incorporating fruits and vegetables into recipes to help meet the recommended daily fiber allowance, and employing alternative cooking methods to help ensure healthier choices are made available to young diners.
Children 5 and under eat for free when ordering off the children’s menu or when eating from the buffet.
Children aged 6-12 pay menu prices when ordering off the children’s menu.
Children aged 12 or under receive a 50% discount when ordering off the regular menu.
Above discounts do not apply to In Room Dining or Poolside service. Cannot be used in conjunction with an existing promotion.
Kid’s Club
Y-Univers Kids Club
Y-Univers Kids Club is a fun, interactive social club situated at the Fairmont Beach Club for children between the ages of 5 to 12.
Children under 5 are welcome but have to be accompanied by an adult (parent or babysitter). Babysitters are available for hire. Please arrange with the Concierge before arrival to hire a babysitter if your child is under the age of 5. The Concierge will also assist you in booking your children in at Y-Univers.
Children registered at the club will be under constant supervision of professionally trained staff. Staff are on hand to ensure the utmost safety and security of your children.
During their visit to the club, children will be involved in a myriad of activities including indoor and outdoor games, crafts, sports, swimming and storytelling enabling parents to enjoy a relaxing break and children to enjoy a full, action packed day.
In addition to the many fun indoor and outdoor games available, children will also learn about the different animals that live on the property as well as the conservation of animal life. The children will be exposed to traditional South African games, crafts, music and dancing.
Children can have their lunch at Y-Univers, with food ordered from the exciting Y-Univers kids menu.

Driving Directions
- From the South (King Shaka International Airport and the City of Durban)
- Take the N2 North toward Stanger/Richards Bay. Take the Ballito/Compensation Road off-ramp, exit 210.
- Turn right over the N2, towards Ballito, pass the Lifestyle Shopping Centre and turn right onto the M4, toward Durban.
- Fairmont Zimbali Resort is on the left-hand side.
From the North and the Wildlife Reserves
- Travel south on the N2 towards Durban. Take the Ballito/Compensation Road off-ramp, exit 210.
