Gourits River Guest Farm and Eco-camping offers a self-catering guest house and eco-friendly campsites in the heart of the Garden Route.

Make yourself at home in a unit with 1 on-suite bedroom and 2 bedrooms with shared bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, outside BBQ/Braai, dining area, lovely lapa, deck and patio. A place where your will find an unforgettable experience with the beautiful view of the the majestic Gourits River, our own adventure island and mountains in the background.
Take advantage of the recreation opportunities such as an outdoor pool, eco-camping, hiking, fishing adventures, bird watching, mountain biking, swimming in the river, canoeing (depending on water level), quad and 4×4 adventures… Manicure and Pedicure also available on site.
Eco-Friendly Camping
You will be out in nature, on the Gourits river, enjoying the beautiful surroundings! Gourits River Eco-Camping is located on the banks of the Gourits River, situated 16 kilometers from Albertinia. Ideal for guests looking for an outdoor breakaway in the heart of the Garden Route.
There are 6 campsites on the property, each of which can accommodate a maximum of 6 persons. The property also contains a communal ablution block, which has showers, basins, and separate toilets. Besides tented stands, guests are welcome to bring their caravans, campervans and echo 4×4’s. Communal braai areas are available to use as well.
Various activities that can be enjoyed on-site are hiking, fishing, canoeing, bird watching, swimming, quad biking trails and scenic drives.
Within 15 minutes’ drive you can visit attractions like the Garden Route Game Lodge (Big 5), Jakkalsvlei Private Wine Cellar (Garden Route’s best Wine Cellar), Indalu Game Reserve and also the Aloe Ferox Factory. Take a 30 minute drive and you can end up at Bottliersfontein Game Reserve, Mossel Bay (Diaz Museum), Diaz Beach, and further on also Oudsthoorn, who is well-known for the Cango Caves.
From Cape Town:
Turn left into Albertinia (Stasie Street). Turn right into Hoof Street (FNB will be in front of you). Turn left at the first 4-way stop and follow gravel road for approximately. 5km. Turn right at first Gourits River Guest Farm sign. After approximately another 5km, turn right at the next Gourits River Guest Farm sign. After approximately 6km you will find your destination on the banks of the Gourits River.
From George to Cape Town (N2):
Turn right 1.7km after the Gourits River bridge on the N2 between Mossel Bay and Albertinia (a Gourits River Guest Farm sign will appear next to a gate.) Follow the road for 8km and you will find your destination.

Whale Watching:
Every year southern right whales migrate from their icy feeding grounds off Antarctica to warmer climates, reaching South Africa in June. The coastal waters teem with the giant animals, mating, calving and rearing their young – and giving whale-watchers spectacular displays of raw power and elegant water acrobatics.
Whale season starts in June and ends at the end of November, the peek season is mid July to mid October.
Sandboarding:
Dragon Dune, the longest sand boarding dune in South Africa, a 320m ride that will boost those adrenaline levels. Easier rides are available for beginners. All equipment provided.
