Siloam Village is situated at Lake Gariep / Xhariep, just below the southern part of the Free State region, right in the middle of South Africa. Bordering 3 provices – Free State, Northern Cape and Eastern Cape, Gariep Dam is fed by the Orange and Caledon Rivers, and is set among koppies and rocky outcrops and the dry open plains of the encroaching Karoo.
History, geography, diverse cultures and the industry of men and women have created in the Xariep / Gariep area a variety of recreational activities and pursuits waiting to be explored.
Lake Gariep is a water sport enthusiast’s paradise, stretching 120km in length and 374 km² in size, and offering sailing, jet skiing and power boating. Siloam Village is situated within the 16 000-hectare Oviston nature reserve which overlooks the Eastern shores of the lake.
The remarkable Gariep Dam in the Grassy Karoo is the biggest catchment of fresh water in South Africa – prime waterfront real estate. And the real surprise? There’s practically not a soul in sight…
