ACCOMMODATION
Dinner Bed & Breakfast, Bed & Breakfast or Self Catering accommodation is offered.
All rooms are full self-catering with air-conditioning and are serviced daily. All rooms have coffee/tea making facilities and are equipped with bath and shower en-suite and have Television with M-Net. All Lodges have ceiling fans and are air conditioned, with individual balconies. The front facing rooms offer sweeping views over the Wetlands.
DINING
St Lucia Eco Lodge offers traditional South African cuisine and our fish dishes are world renowned. Our restaurant has an A-La-Carte menu with a wide selection of firm South African favourites. Vegetarians and special dietary requirements are also catered for. Banqueting/conferencing is our specialty.

LOCATION
- St. Lucia, a malaria-free area, is a 2½ hours drive north of Durban on the N2 toll road.
- From Gauteng drive via Ermelo, Piet Retief and Pongola (6½ hours).
- Cape Vidal, one of the best snorkelling venues on the coast, is 25 km north of St Lucia
- The Hluhluwe Umfolozi game reserve featuring the ‘Big 5’ is 55Km away.
- Richards Bay is the nearest airport offering scheduled flights (St Lucia Eco Lodge operates a shuttle service) and the nearby 121 Battalion 1.5Km concrete landing strip is available for private flights.
Take the N2 from Johannesburg direction Ermelo. Follow the road, until the Mtubatuba turn-off. Here you will find the St. Lucia Turn-off (R618).

St Lucia Eco Lodge will assist guests with information regarding activities and tours – a few examples are:
- Boat safaris on the lake to see crocodiles on Lake St. Lucia and hippos
- Whale watching in St. Lucia off the coast of the warm Indian Ocean during the winter months.
- Game Reserve excursions – ‘Big 5’ game reserves close to St. Lucia village
- Birding in and around St. Lucia – a variety of habitats
- Snorkelling tours to Cape Vidal
- Horse riding in the wetlands of St. Lucia.
- Game Viewing on horseback
- A visit to a traditional Zulu village to experience first hand Zulu culture
- The area is a must for special interest groups like photographers, birders & nature lovers.
- Self-drive safaris. Here’s your chance to see the surrounding area of St. Lucia wetlands in an off-road “buggy” type vehicle escorted by a trained guide.
- Our guests are welcome to play Tennis, golf or squash at nearby Monzi Country Club.
- Turtle tours during November, December and part of January to view the Giant Leatherback turtles at Cape Vidal or St. Lucia returning to lay their eggs on the beaches where they were born.
