Wyndford has been growing since the 1920s. As a result, our rooms are not uniform. Accommodation ranges from Swiss-style chalets – each with two bedrooms, en-suite bathroom, downstairs lounge, TV, fridge and fireplace – to simpler, but still luxurious double rooms, to rondavels, family suites with interleading rooms (all en-suite), to basic, but comfortable rooms with shared ablution facilities nearby. And then there are the caves, of course.
It is best that you describe your requirements to us, so that we can let you know what is available that will suit your particular needs.

Tariffs include VAT, three meals a day, early morning tea or coffee, mid-morning and afternoon tea or coffee with homemade biscuits or cake.
Horse-riding, bowling green fees, etc. are extra.

Wyndford is surrounded by the unique formations of the Rooiberge (mountains) of the Eastern Free State and Lesotho’s often snow-capped Maluti Mountains are visible in the distance.
Six kilometres of Caledon River frontage separates the farm from Lesotho. Tube down the river when its full or go agate hunting when it’s low.
Come and experience the cold! If it snows, you could build a snowman, have a snow-fight or go for a day-long skiing trip to Lesotho’s Afri Ski, then return to heated rooms or a chat around the fire.
Take a day trip to the Katse Dam and enjoy a farm packed picnic along the way or visit picturesque Clarens, 25 minutes down the road.
Nutritious, wholesome, natural food, using spring water, organic milk and homegrown fruit and vegetables in season.
The traditional roast after the Sunday church service is simply scrumptious…a great excuse to celebrate a birthday or special occasion!
Enjoy a leisurely swim in our large pool, a game of bowls for the competitive or a mountain bike ride(bring your own) on our trails for the energetic.
Two tennis courts, one floodlit – also great for nighttime action cricket.
Introduce the young ones to horseriding with led rides daily or enjoy the great scenery and quiet as our surefooted horses take you over the mountain.
Guided walks taken daily, alternatively enjoy a 60m zip line through the forest or experience the thrill of abseiling.
Explore the many caves or just swing in the forest chairs while watching the kids play in the tree houses.
Directions from Johannesburg via Villiers
- Take the N3 to Durban from Johannesburg
- At ± 65km, pass through the De Hoek Toll Plaza
- At ± 30km, pass the Engen 1 Stop
- Cross over the Vaal River
- Take next offramp left to VILLIERS / FRANKFORT just before the Villiers Tollgate
- At the stop street turn right to Villiers / Frankfort
- After ±30 km, stop street right to Frankfort. Bypass Frankfort on right-hand side
- Just past Frankfort cross the Wilge River Bridge
- Turn next left at TWEELING / REITZ turn off
- ± 30km bypass Tweeling on right hand side
- ± 60km 4 Way Stop. Continue straight
- Bypass Reitz ± 50km to BETHLEHEM
- In Bethlehem, go through the traffic light at the Wimpy and then turn right at the four-way stop street. Cross 10 streets and turn left into Commissioner St (at the Kentucky Fried Chicken)
- After 47 km you will reach the FOURIESBURG turn-off. By-pass this turn-off and ± 3 km further on you will see the first Wyndford sign, turn left along the CLARENS road.
- After approximately 300 meters along the CLARENS road turn right onto the CALEDONSPOORT road.
- Wyndford is 8km from this point on the right hand side of the road.
Directions to Wyndford from Durban
- Take main N3 from Durban to Johannesburg.
- ± 25 km from Estcourt turn left onto Winterton road (Offramp 194).
- Continue with this road through Winterton and Bergville, over Oliviershoek
- Pass and continue past the Sterkfontein Dam.
- At the T-junction turn left and continue past the Qwa-Qwa(Phudaditjhaba) turn-off, through the Golden Gate National Park.
- At Clarens turn left towards Fouriesburg.
- At Fouriesburg junction turn left towards Caledonspoort.
- Wyndford is 8km from this point on the right hand side of the road.
Directions to Wyndford from Port Elizabeth
- Take route from Port Elizabeth to Grahamstown,
- Fort Beaufort and then to Queenstown.
- From Queenstown on to Burgersdorp and Aliwal North.
- From Aliwal North to Zastron, Rouxville, then to Wepener and Hobhouse bypassing the towns.
- At T-junction turn right to Ladybrand (N8).
- Bypass Ladybrand, Clocolan and Ficksburg to Fouriesburg.
- Approximately 45 kms from Ficksburg, turn right to Clarens / Fouriesburg.
- ± 300 metres further on, turn right again, onto the Caledonspoort road.
- Wyndford is 8km from this point on the right hand side of the road.
Directions To Wyndford From Bloemfontein
- Take the N8 road from BLOEMFONTEIN, past LADYBRAND, and continue straight on to FICKSBURG on the R26 road.
- By-pass FICKSBURG and continue on the R26 BETHLEHEM road for approx. 48 kms until you come to the first turn-off to FOURIESBURG (and Clarens).
- Turn right at this junction. ±300 meters further on, turn right again onto the CALEDONSPOORT road.
- Wyndford is 8km from this point on the right hand side of the road.

Cancellation Policy:
Free cancellation if cancelled up to 56 days prior to arrival. If cancelled:
- 55 days before check-in, 25% of the booking amount is charged
- 30 days before check-in, 50% of the booking amount is charged
- 14 days before check-in, 100% of the booking amount is charged

Guests can play tennis, bowls, volleyball or giant chess in the gardens. The games room includes a snooker table, table soccer, pool, darts and table tennis. The guest lounge offers card games and puzzles and there is also a secluded reading room. WiFi is available in public areas and there are telephones in all units.
Daily morning and afternoon hikes are offered free of charge and special arrangements can be made for horse riding, zip-lining and abseiling. Wyndford is 8 km from Fouriesburg and with easy access to Afriski and Katse Dam in Lesotho and nearby Clarens.
